About The Kennebunkport Festival
Since 2004, the Kennebunkport Festival has been a fun, delicious way to kick off the busy summer tourist season in southern Maine while recognizing the talents of some of our local artists. From 2004 - 2010 a small dedicated group of local business owners coordinated the event. From 2011 through 2017, the festival was organized by a Portland Maine based media company.
On April 30th, 2018 the Portland Maine media company canceled the 2018 Kennebunkport Festival. United in a sense of pride in their community and conviction that “the show must go on,” local businesses owners and residents gathered together on May 1st and resolved to preserve the spirit of the Kennebunkport Festival to the best of their collective ability. The week-long celebration generates a lot of excitement in our community, raises money for charity, and delivers great benefits to our local businesses during what was formerly a slow time of year.
Going forward, the Committee’s vision is for the Kennebunkport Festival to continue on as a community event made possible by local businesses and residents working together in ways they never have before. For more information, please see us on Facebook at "TheKennebunkportFestival"
